Obama Flip-Flop: Let the Statist Show Trials Begin

You knew it was only a matter of time before the statists in control of Congress, with a wink and a nod from Obama, would choose to criminalize politics in this country by going after former members of the Bush administration on so-called “torture” allegations. This just in from the AP:
Obama open to Hill probe of harsh interrogations
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama says torture memos reflect the United States “losing our moral bearings.” The president is leaving the door to open to possible prosecution of Bush administration officials who devised harsh terrorism-era interrogation tactics.
He also said Tuesday that he worries about the impact of high-intensity hearings on how detainees were treated under former President George W. Bush. But Obama did say, nevertheless, he could support a Hill investigation if it were conducted in a bipartisan way.
Obama has said he doesn’t support charging CIA agents and interrogators who took part in waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics, acting on advice from superiors that such practices were legal. But he also said that it is up to the attorney general whether to prosecute Bush administration lawyers who wrote the memos approving these tactics.
But just last week Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s own Chief of Staff, said this to ABC news:
Obama Administration: No Prosecution of Officials for Bush-Era Torture Policy
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said during our exclusive interview Sunday on “This Week” that President Barack Obama will not pursue the prosecution of Bush-era officials who devised torture policy against detainees, as laid out in memos the Obama administration released this week.
“He believes that, look, as you saw in that statement he wrote, let’s just take a step back. He came up with this and worked on this for about four weeks. Wrote that statement Wednesday night after he had made his decision and dictated what he wanted to see. And Thursday morning I saw him in the office, he was still editing it. He believes that people in good faith were operating with the guidance they were provided,” Emanuel said.
What about those who devised the policy, I asked?
“Yeah, but those who devised the policy, he believes that they were, should not be prosecuted either,” Emanuel said.
“And it’s not the place that we go, and as he said in that letter, and I would really recommend people look at the full statement, not the letter, the statement, and that second paragraph: “This is not a time for retribution. It’s a time for reflection. It’s not a time to use our energy and our time in looking back and in a sense of anger and retribution.’ We have a lot to do to protect America. But what people need to know? This practice and technique, we don’t use anymore. We banned it.”
True to form, Obama the statist, has no problem blatantly lying to the American people from day to day… whatever he fancies in the moment suits him just fine.
Folks, this is one of the most dangerous things an administration can do. Attempting to prosecute political foes for their efforts to keep the American people safe from terrorists?! Terrorist who killed almost 3,000 Americans on 9/11? This is completely outrageous!
For you liberals who seem to have forgotten what it was like that day, why don’t you take a look at the destruction these barbarians created on the beautiful September day:
And now they want to prosecute Bush Administration officials who did everything they could to keep this country from being attacked again… and were DAMN SUCCESSFUL at it!
I’ll tell ya’ folks, I detest these statists with every fiber of my being. And if they go through with these political show trials, payback will be a bitch (politically speaking). They won’t be in power forever… and what goes around, comes around.
