The Inherent Idiocy of “Bipartisanship”

- Scott Miller

CentristMascotFrom Wikipedia “Bipartisanship: In a two-party system, bipartisan refers to any bill, act, resolution, or any other action of a political body in which both of the major political parties are in agreement.”

If you listen to many of our current pols, most of the so-called brilliant pundits, and practically all of our Pravda media, you would think that “bipartisanship” is the best thing since, well, sliced bread. A so-called “jobs bill” that attracts 5 Republican Senators out of 41 is hailed as a bipartisan… really?

And why is there such group think that trying to be bipartisan is a good thing? I contend that the very idea is shear idiocy.

What the hell is the purpose of having two parties with opposing philosophies if the goal is to always strive for one half-ass result? Why not just have one Biparty-party and suspend elections.

The idea that supposed principled views can/should be compromised in the search for the Utopian myth of bipartisanship is to me, abhorrent.

What we need is more partisanship, not less. More of our representatives actually having a solid principles that they stand and fight for. If I stand for limited government and liberty (which I do), there is no way in hell I’m ceding any ground whatsoever to the statist agenda.

In short… screw the idea of bipartisanship. Let the two parties battle the way the founders intended, and let the best ideas win.
